Commissioned by the United Way of Northwest Vermont, this report was conducted in March 2026 in four different counties of Vermont. The focus groups were held to determine the general public’s awareness of:

• the high rates of alcohol consumption in Vermont

• the social and economic impacts of that consumption

• the casual link between alcohol and cancer

• recovery from Alcohol Use Disorder

and their feeling and opinions around these aspects of the issue.
